What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer - Site position at TNP?
TNP has an immediate opening in our Denton, TX office for a Civil Engineer to join an established design team. The Project Engineer is responsible for the production of design for a variety of public/private sector projects with an emphasis in site development, but also including municipal public works infrastructure and transportation improvements projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable design experience, as well as the development of project management skills.
Responsibilities- Performing research and completing technical design tasks for transportation projects (city street, drainage, highways, freeways, and traffic control) as required and/or assigned, under the direction & supervision of a professional engineer
- Preparation of proposals, reports, opinion of probable cost, construction specifications and contract documents, under the direction & supervision of a professional manager
- Establishing good communication and working relationships with team members & clients
- Organizing and scheduling work, and at times, the work of other team members in order to accomplish project goals within established budgets and timelines
- Effectively coordinating & collaborating with technical experts, other engineering design teams and sub-consultants
- Learning project management in accordance with TNP standards and guidelines
Education/Registration
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Passing of FE Exam & EIT Certification or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year preferred.
- Intent to pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in the State of Texas
Professional

- Design proficiency with roadway, drainage, water, and sanitary sewer improvements is required
- Zero (0) to Four (4) years of experience in site development design preferred
- Proficiency with Civil 3D, Microsoft Word and Excel is required
