Position: HSE Director
Location: Denver, CO
Reports to: Director of Corporate HSE/DOT
RMS is looking to add an experienced full-time HSE Director to our growing company. The following requirements must be meet in order to be considered for this position.

Salary: $90,000 to $115,000/annually depending on experience and qualifications.
Summary: The HSE Director provides regional safety leadership, ensuring compliance with TNT HSE standards. Implements HSE initiatives, improves safety performance, and ensures branch and regional safety policies and procedures are aligned with governmental require
Essential Function:
- Develops and implements HSE action plans for continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Provides materials, training and tools, and other methods to create and deliver a comprehensive training program for TNT personnel.
- Monitors and provides expertise to the organization regarding regulatory requirement, necessary training and policy issues, introduce new policies and procedures and take other actions necessary to ensure compliance with requirements and creates a safe working environment.
- Responsible for determining corrective actions for any HSE related deficiencies and ensuring satisfactory follow up with individuals.
- Provides coaching and feedback on work performance.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory and business standards.
- Coordinate with insurance, vendors, authorities and internal staff regarding claims, requests for information or other follow up as necessary regarding incidents.
- Establishes a coordinated system to ensure the documentation and recordkeeping of all incidents, accident, maintenance and HSE related information is maintained to support safety compliance, standards and best practices.
- Supports the organization by coordinating with various groups and resources such as the Safety Council, industry association and groups, external vendors and resources, and by staying current on industry, regulatory, and professional information and expertise.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Credentials
- Have a current class C Driver’s License (Class A preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- CST certification preferred.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE.
- Previous management experience required.
- Crane experience preferred.
Skills Required
- Ability to interpret, read, write, and type reports.
- Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to employ physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work.
- Able to perform bending, stooping, lifting, seeing, hearing, walking, ability to lift 75 lbs., twisting, crawling, climbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting and standing.
- Eyesight sufficient for operating a motor vehicle, inspection of equipment, and complete paper work.
- Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with Customers and coworkers.
Supervision
- Direct supervisor of other employees.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
Contacts
- Considerable contacts within the company.
- Considerable outside contact with Customers.
Mental Demands
- Must be able to deal with deadlines.
- Needs to be able to prioritize workload and work without direct supervision.
Working Conditions
- Exposed to outside weather conditions. (i.e., heat, cold, rain, snow, ice)
- Irregular working hours and standby hours.
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, explosive, fumes/odors, dust, chemical or toxic waste hazards.
- Will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas.
- Job assignments will require travel and overnight stay.
Accountability
- Must be punctual and available for job assignments
- Be able to cooperate with others in team environment for training and conference on operational issues.
- Required to submit reports and paperwork associated with the position (Field tickets, time book, maintenance reports, etc.) on a regular and timely basis.
- Maintains insurable driving record for use of company vehicles.
- Maintain a class C Drivers License.
- Maintain all other required licenses.
