Job Overview
The Quality Control Inspector ensures that all pet supply products meet company and regulatory standards before they reach consumers. This role involves inspecting raw materials, monitoring production processes, testing finished goods, and enforcing quality assurance protocols to maintain product consistency, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct quality inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Perform product testing to verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Identify defects, inconsistencies, and deviations from specifications.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all products meet industry regulations (e.g., FDA, AAFCO, ISO, or GMP standards).
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Work closely with regulatory bodies during audits and compliance reviews.
- Process Monitoring & Improvement:
- Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quality control standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with production teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Defect Analysis & Corrective Actions:
- Investigate product defects and determine root causes.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive measures.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in quality control, preferably in pet supply or food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use testing and inspection equipment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., Six Sigma, HACCP, or ISO standards).
- Experience with pet food and pet product manufacturing processes.
