Paygrade 4 $19,199 - $24,677 High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Paygrade 5 $20,524 - $26,282 48 college credits or qualifying scores on the Parapro Assessment
Paygrade 6 $21,556 - $27,607 Bachelor’s degree or higher
Hours:
10 months, 35 hours per week, 182 days (1274 annual hours)
Contract Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.
FLSA: Non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preference may be given to candidates with post-secondary education.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and associates.
Experience working with youth is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organization and self-starter skills.
Working knowledge of Word and Excel applications and ability to work with other types of applications after training.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and availability of an automobile.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor student attendance by reviewing daily attendance sheets and the Student Attendance and Interventions report.
Maintain contact with students and parents through conferences, phone calls.
Make phone calls or home visits to students who are absent for three consecutive days.
Work with parents and students to ensure papers are signed and returned such as Free and Reduced Meals forms.
Work collaboratively with the Pupil Personnel Worker assigned to the school to perform home visits for the following reasons:
Follow-up on repeat absences and tardiness
Promote active parent involvement in the school community
Assist with the Truancy Reduction Program
Complete and log attendance intervention tasks associated with WCPS Attendance Policy
Attend Student and Family Services professional development staff meetings.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and associates.
Perform other duties as assigned by Administration
