Job Title: Data Ops Engineer
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite) Duration: 12-Month Contract Extendable
Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will have expertise in modern data technologies, with the ability to develop, implement, and optimize database queries, reports, and data pipelines. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can analyze and improve existing data processes, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Triage issues across the data platform to address development, test, and production concerns.
Test data pipelines in staging/QA environments and assist in deploying them to production.
Collaborate with business, product, and technical stakeholders to resolve data and reporting issues.
Create and manage Incident and Change Requests (ServiceNow) as needed for data pipelines.
Assist in data architecture, ETL pipeline development, automation, and scheduling.
Develop and maintain documentation, including Confluence pages, technical procedures, and user guides/SOPs.
Apply best practices for optimized software development, including CI/CD implementation.
Maintain data quality by implementing automated query checks and control frameworks.
Provide 24x7 availability (on a rotational basis) to support critical deliveries, loads, and releases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience: 3-5 years of data software development experience with expertise in applying software engineering best practices (system design, modularity, version control, unit testing, documentation, etc.).
Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
Cloud Expertise: Strong foundation/certification in AWS Cloud Services, including S3, Redshift Spectrum, and EC2.
Tools & Platforms: Solid experience working with GitLab, JIRA, and Confluence.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
