What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery Tree Yard Associate position at Toadflax Nursery?
Are you hard working? Are you outgoing? Can you lead, inspire, and motivate? Toadflax Nursery is looking for a positive, enthusiastic nursery yard associate who know and love plants. Our Nursery Yard Associates are responsible for customer service and general upkeep of our nursery stock (trees, shrubs, flowers, plants etc.)
to be considered for the position, you must:
-have basic experience with trees, shrubs, plants, etc. (we are willing to train the right individual)
-be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
-be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time
-be able to safely use heavy equipment (fork loaders and skidsteers)
-be able to work in the elements (heat of summer/ cold of winter)
-have reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
- Water nursery stock to ensure optimal plant health
- Assist in moving nursery stock as needed
- Up pot trees, shrubs and plants as needed and complete appropriate paperwork for re-tagging plant material
- Work with the team to maintain an organized tree yard and nursery
- Use heavy equipment as need for tasks such as moving trees, loading trucks, unloading orders, etc.
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Weekends as needed
