As the Product Manager for Toast Web you'll work closely with a Design lead, Engineering lead, and a team of dedicated engineers to make the customer experience of Toast consistent across products and experiences. We operate like a small startup with high ambitions and a focus on experimentation, testing, and iteration before scaling our work across Toast. Our focus is on finding ways to make it easier for our customers to get their work done and easier for our designers and developers to deliver.
You are obsessed about customers and how they work. You wake up thinking about how to enable our customers to find what they need on the first try. You understand customer mental models of how they engage with software (search, navigation), and know how to ensure that there is quality and consistency in their overall experience (design system) while still leaving room for flexibility for each individual product team. You love solving complex problems, looking across experiences, and scaling simplicity for customers and for internal teams. You are grounded in user feedback, cross-functional partnership, and can translate customer and user needs and product vision into world-class experiences that work at scale.
You have a proven track record of building and shipping user-facing experiences that include elements of search and how users navigate across products. You understand the power of AI, how design systems work, and how to measure and evaluate the success of cross-cutting experiences like search. In addition, as part of the team driving consistency and quality of our overall customer experience, you partner with other teams creating platform functionalities to ensure they can be used by all teams.

- Responsibilities) :
- Own and drive the roadmap for search and navigation, helping to figure out how we can deliver a consistent, high quality customer experience across products and lines of business
- Work closely with designers and developers to concept, prototype, ship, measure, and improve things like search and how customers find new Toast products
- Work with the design and front-end dev communities to continuously improve the design system, and measure its impact on team productivity and experience quality.
- Define and implement the education and governance model for our design system
- Research and get to know customers (internal and external) directly
- Champion customer needs internally by building strong relationships horizontally and vertically within Toast

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus / commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.
