About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Food Safety Manager to join their Food Safety team, based in Miami, FL. In this role, you’ll lead initiatives to uphold the highest food safety standards, offering strategic guidance across their regional and franchise networks in North America. You will be instrumental in driving programs that ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of their supply chain and locations.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Food Safety Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the Food Safety team in implementing corporate food safety and supplier management programs across the North American region.
- Acting as a regional expert, offering guidance and support to resolve complex food safety and quality challenges across the supply chain and at the restaurant level.
- Mentoring and providing technical training to junior members of the Food Safety & Quality Assurance team.
- Developing and monitoring key food safety performance indicators for suppliers and restaurants, driving continuous improvement.
- Serving as the regional Food Safety lead for the Incident Management team, responding to and resolving high-profile food safety and quality complaints to protect the brand.
- Overseeing the development of global food safety policies, such as third-party laboratory approvals and supplier auditing standards.
- Building and maintaining proactive relationships with regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA/FSIS, CFIA) to ensure compliance and adapt to evolving regulations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Expertise in food microbiology and its application to product safety and quality.
- Strong leadership skills to guide the Food Safety team and support the Quality Assurance team.
- Knowledge of formulation and manufacturing controls across various product categories (e.g., proteins, dairy, bakery).
- Exceptional communication, writing, presentation, and training skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organisational agility and conflict management abilities, with experience building relationships with industry and regulatory officials.
- Comprehensive knowledge of US and Canadian regulatory requirements and the ability to work effectively with such agencies.
