What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rest Area Technician position at TOBOSA DEVELOPMENT SERVICES?
FUNCTION: Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities,
buildings, and other areas to be maintained under contractual obligations.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrive at work promptly, work schedules assigned, and work as a member of a team in order to assure positive outcomes for participants.
- Complete work on a timely basis, assuring deadlines are met and work is completed by the time required.
- Communicate in an open, honest, respectful manner on an ongoing basis with co-workers and supervisors regarding relevant person, program, and employment issues.
- Accept supervisory guidance and direction and use feedback constructively.
- Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates mechanical equipment while performing exterior and interior maintenance as necessary.
- Performs maintenance tasks in landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical components in Tobosa's facilities.
- Checks fire extinguishers on a consistent basis.
- Performs minor repair to plumbing, electrical circuits, heating, air conditioning units, windows, floors and other portions of Tobosa facilities to ensure safe and secure environment.
- Checks all lighting in all Tobosa facilities and replaces bulbs and fixtures as necessary to meet adequate lighting needs in Tobosa facilities.
- Inspects and services all vehicles to ensure safe operating condition. Reports any discrepancies to program director.
- Provides technical maintenance assistance to staff in other areas as requested.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds for a short distance.
- May provide direct input to the immediate supervisor regarding inssues to be address at Rest Area
- Performs other related duties as directed by the Program Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must be physically able to perform job duties typical to this position.
