What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Representative - MRI Suite position at TOC?
Position Summary: Provide customer service with professionalism to support the patient flow of the MRI division of TOC.
Schedule requires availability between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m. for eight (8) hour shifts, M-F.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet patients and politely have them sign in.
- Verify and enter all patient demographics and insurance information into the computer system including authorization and referral numbers.
- Copy all insurance cards and prescription slips for chart.
- Confirm appointments with patients and provide appropriate information regarding their appointment.
- Schedule all patients for their MRI appointment.
- Answer phone calls and return voicemails each day.
- Collect co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles from patients.
- Screen all patients to ensure they are free of metal to go in the machine.
- Escort patients to the dressing room and instruct them of what they need to do from there.
- Work various shifts, as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may require sitting and/or standing for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and such other office equipment as necessary. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and work in an environment which can be very stressful.
CREDENTIALS DESIRED
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education and at least one year of prior work experience in a medical office or customer service setting.
