What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prosthetic Technician position at TOC?
Full-time position available for a Prosthetic Technician to work collaboratively within the Orthotics & Prosthetics suite of the Capital Medical location of TOC.
Applicants must have a working knowledge of Prosthetic and Orthotic industry equipment and materials; the ability to multi-task while managing tight deadlines and giving close attention to detail; the ability to identify and resolve issues to ensure a positive patient experience and outcome; and proficiency in Microsoft and other software applications.
Essential functions include:
- Fabricates prosthetic and orthotic devices in coordination with clinical team to meet design objectives, quality standards, and clinical timelines;
- Proactively supports and communicates with technical, clinical and management teams in daily activities to complete objectives;
- Repairs and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices;
- Documents activities to facility standards of content and timeliness for quality assurance, project tracking, business support, and patient records;
- Performs basic alignment of prostheses and orthoses of all levels;
- Performs routine maintenance on fabrication equipment;
- Maintains a working knowledge of a wide variety of materials, components and skills;
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as deemed appropriate.
Associate degree in Prosthetics/Orthotics technology or a related health sciences field. Successful completion of the American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics preferred. A minimum of 2 years' experience in orthotic/prosthetic fabrication a plus.
