Night Shift Warehousing Specialist

A warehousing specialist oversees and optimizes warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient storage, retrieval, and shipping of goods. This role involves managing inventory, coordinating shipments, and supervising warehouse staff. Specific duties include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, maintaining inventory records, preparing and packing outgoing orders, and operating warehouse equipment. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management:
• Receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, ensuring they meet quality standards. 
• Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular inventory audits. 
• Using warehousing management systems and inventory tracking systems to optimize storage and retrieval. 
• Identifying and addressing discrepancies in stock levels. 
• Shipping and Receiving:
• Coordinating shipping schedules and preparing outgoing shipments. 
• Packing and labeling orders according to customer requirements. 
• Unloading and unloading freight using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks. 
• Verifying shipping documentation and quantities. 
• Supervision and Coordination:
• Supervising warehouse staff and providing training on safety procedures and operational processes. 
• Collaborating with other departments like sales, procurement, and logistics to ensure smooth operations. 
• Implementing and improving warehouse processes to enhance efficiency. 
• Other Duties:
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment. 
• Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed. 
• Identifying and reporting potential safety hazards. 

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and shipping procedures.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and software.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with staff and other departments. 

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 
• This position requires experience in warehouse operations or logistics. 
• Experience with warehousing management systems and/or inventory control software may be preferred.
