Job Summary:
Todos Mis Hijos Inc. is seeking an experienced and dynamic Afterschool Program Director to lead our afterschool program serving school-age children. The director will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment, developing enriching activities, and supervising staff. This role requires strong leadership, program development skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive experience for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Oversight & Implementation: Develop, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of the afterschool program, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Staff Management: Supervise afterschool staff, including teachers, aides, and volunteers. Provide ongoing professional development and performance evaluations.
- Curriculum & Activity Planning: Design and implement age-appropriate academic enrichment, recreational, and social-emotional learning activities.
- Student Supervision & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the program. Maintain compliance with all safety policies and state regulations.
- Family & Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and community partners. Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress and program updates.
- Budget & Resource Management: Assist in managing program budgets, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources, and identifying funding opportunities.
- Program Evaluation & Improvement: Assess program effectiveness through feedback and observations. Implement improvements to enhance the quality and impact of the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth programs, education, or afterschool program leadership.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in curriculum development, behavior management, and staff supervision.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in afterschool programming.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
