Job Summary:
The Intake and Training Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for referrals and foster families. This role is responsible for screening and processing referrals for potential placements and providing support, education, and ongoing information for individuals interested in becoming licensed foster care families. The coordinator works closely with the foster care specialist to ensure suitable placements.
Reports to: Director
Compensation: $20 - $23/hour
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Triage referrals to determine appropriate action according to TEAM-LLC policies.
- Respond to requests for information and referrals from community members, parents, and other professionals.
- Collect and organize required documentation to build child and foster care files.
- Lead weekly training classes for prospective foster parents using the NTDC curriculum.
- Facilitate monthly agency orientation sessions for newly licensed foster homes.
As an Intake and Training Coordinator, you will:
- Meet with families and caregivers to provide guidance and support.
- Follow up with families and caregivers via phone, mail, and email to provide information and referrals as needed.
- Conduct weekly foster licensing training sessions using NTDC curriculum and detailed agendas.
- Organize and facilitate monthly training sessions introducing TEAM's values, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with the foster care specialist and director to maintain an up-to-date database of foster family and child files.
Other Responsibilities:
- Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with community partners.
- Stay informed on the latest child welfare issues, abuse prevention, and family support techniques.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Work cooperatively within a team environment, fostering a culture of customer-centered service and collaboration.
- Perform additional job duties as assigned.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, child development, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of related child welfare experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in crisis management, information and referral services, and cultural diversity awareness.
- Knowledge of child abuse dynamics and intervention strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn other data management systems.
