Join Our Mission

The Director of Quality & Audit is responsible for the daily operations of the Audit and Performance Quality Improvement needs of the agency. This includes ensuring quality improvement programs are developed and managed using a data-driven focus all in alignment with the agency’s mission, vision and values and audits are conducted to support these initiatives.  The Director of Quality & Audit will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).  In addition, the director is responsible for making and presenting recommendations for continuous improvement to senior management and various stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Preparing and presenting clear and concise reports to the CCO that are solution focused relaying details of discovery, recommendations for resolve (where appropriate), how the department is able to assist in the resolve, and plans for reassessment. 

  • Coordinating efforts related to audits, reviews, and examinations. 

  • Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments. 

  • Review all staff written reports for complete identification of risks including fair, unbiased, and accurate representation of the information. Ensure reports are solution focused relaying details of discovery, recommendations for resolve (where appropriate), how the department is able to assist in the resolve, and plans for reassessment. 

  • Ensure all identified risks are tracked, communicated, and responded to in a timely manner 

  • Responsible for keeping CCO informed as to departmental operations 

  • Responsible for overall leadership and supervision of staff including coordinating and/or conducting staff training and development, hiring and selection of staff, performance evaluation, directing and assigning work, approving time cards and time off requests, and makes recommendations for other personnel actions including terminations, promotion and demotions. 

  • Identifies quality improvement initiatives providing a clear and concise report of how to implement the quality improvement initiative and how the department is able to assist in the initiative.  

  • Assists with developing and communicating strategic vision and scope of quality improvement initiatives; ensures initiatives are designed to improve program efficiencies and effectiveness. 

  • Oversees data collection, management and analysis of quality data, and preparation of quality reports. Oversees completion of agency-wide outcomes data and evidence based measurement tools. 

  • Establishes a continuous quality improvement effort and monitoring/reporting system. 

  • Assesses agency services, policies and procedures.  Analyzes and interprets data to measure short-term and long-term program objectives and outcomes. 

  • Monitors, evaluates, and makes strategic recommendations to integrate data results into programs for continuous improvement to the CCO. 

  • Determines which measurement techniques are appropriate for various assessments to be used to evaluate program effectiveness. 

  • Manages tracking and reporting of important measurements for programs such as discharge and post-discharge outcomes.  

  • Reviews and suggests tools and surveys to ensure effectiveness/integrity. Ensures needed data is collected in timely manner, reports are distributed timely. 

  • Maintains all utilization review activities including training peer reviewers for agency-wide programs are completed timely. 

  • Ensures programmatic plans collaborate with all appropriate departments with a focus on continuous improvement. 

  • Implements and promotes a continuous improvement model to all internal and external programs/departments. 

  • Implements agency surveys, including but not limited to satisfaction surveys (staff, client, internal and external customer surveys), and all others assigned and needed per department and program. 

  • Ensures all types of data collections are developed and maintained based on appropriate Risk/Compliance standards and expectations. 

  • Conducts and participates in trainings as needed to provide understanding of outcomes and reporting needs. 

  • Assists in monitoring agency compliance with regulatory and COA best practice standards and requirements. 

  • Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values. 

  • Participates and runs associated committees to communicate, manage, and track quality & audit matters. 

  • Represents the agency and liaisons with various stakeholders associated with compliance and risk management 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

Job Requirements  

  • Preferred Master’s degree in business, education, human services or related field; minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, education, human services or related field is required. 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in quality improvement field, child welfare field, or compliance field is required. 

  • Leadership and management experience required. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced and energetic culture. Highly effective in dealing with ambiguity. Must be able to adapt, be sensitive to Agency needs, goodwill and public image. 

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with extreme discretion. 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.   

  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
