The purpose of this position is to maintain all electrical equipment and pumps and requires constant field work and travel to various facilities. The electrician will be expected to repair electrical control panels; maintain inventory; applying for electrical service permits through the City or County Agencies, install electrical control panels, disconnect switches and meter cans, install ¾" to 2" aluminum and pvc piping, pull service wire to electrical devices, dig ditches and install equipment grounding, use concrete drill to penetrate concrete wet well to install 2" conduit, and maintain good verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.   Other duties include conducting on-call duty when necessary.

Electrician II: $26.55 - $35.39 Hourly
$55,224.00 - $73,611.00 Annually
Master Electrician: $31.81 - $45.45 Hourly
$66,164.00 - $94,536.00 Annually
Electrician II:
  1. Repairs electrical failures by utilizing multi meters, meg meters, and amp meters; and corresponding with cooperators and mechanics. 
  2. Conducts preventative maintenance of electrical equipment by insulating tests on motors; checking amperage; checking for hot spots; calibrating meters; and maintaining electrical panels and rooms of debris. 
  3. Performs electrical installation by ordering material; corresponding with personnel; utilizing generators. 
  4. Utilizes vehicles by operating crane, hoist, and bucket trucks; maintaining inventory and truck; and conducting inspections on trucks. 
  5. Maintains warehouse by operating forklifts; organizing material; and cleaning the warehouse. 
  6. Conducts clerical work by answering and making phone calls; writing and sending emails; copying materials; and completing work orders.
  7. Calibrates and maintains controls and process instruments and other instruments using a 4-20ma control signal.
  8. Maintains arc flash compliance following safety protocols in a live environment.
  9. Performs troubleshooting and maintenance for all levels of infrastructure in water/water reclamation plants and lift station operation; working with mechanical and electrical equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), fuses, breakers and contactors.
  10. Troubleshoots control systems equipped with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using ladder logic diagrams and electrical schematics. Uses technical manuals and prints to isolate and repair control systems.
  11. Uses multimeter instruments to identify voltage and ensures the safety of the work location while performing repairs.
  12. Works in enclosed spaces, adjacent to electrical equipment while installing or repairing chase pipes for wiring additional power or communication sources.
  13. Works with hand tools, climbs ladders and/or opens working pull boxes to run various types of cables.
  14. Interprets and understands Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) / PLC logic which involves reading and understanding data trends used in troubleshooting equipment.
  15. Utilizes a work order management system to capture and record electrical failures, views historical data, report time and resources expended to complete work orders.
  16. Assists other staff with low voltage wiring while installing lights, switches and other low voltage equipment required for the maintenance of a safe working area or restoration of communications systems.
  17. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  18. All other duties as assigned.
Master Electrician: 
  1. Ability to follow electrical code manuals to install and repair electrical systems
  2. Digging trenches, building racks for control panels at liftstations, and installing conduit.
  3. Understand schematic diagrams, CAD drawings, blueprints and other specifications required by our client
  4. Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
  5. Installing service feeders for services, run pipe, pull branch circuits, install lighting, and minimum troubleshooting.
  6. Pipe running and bending ¾ to 2”, pulling circuits, terminating panel boards, installation of lighting, other electrical duties as required.

  15. Maintains warehouse by operating forklifts; organizing material; and cleaning the warehouse.
  16. Other duties include conducting on-call duty when necessary.
  17. Demonstrate good verbal and written communication to customers and employees. 
  18. Demonstrate good computer skills to respond to emails, communicate via phone, send and receive emails, utilize copier and fax machines, and use software application to complete work orders.
  19. All other duties as assigned.
Electrician II:
  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator. 
  2. At least 5 years of Industrial motor controls & 3 phase system
  3. Journeyman License issued by the State of Florida (Department of
     Business & Professional Regulation – DBPR).
  4. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.
  5. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License. 
  6. As a condition of employment, must obtain a State of Florida Class B Driver's License with Air Brakes Endorsement within the first year of employment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • State-certified or State-registered as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Medium voltage electrical work experience
  • Experience in water, water reclamation, or industrial operations and processes
  • Familiarity with local County electrical codes
Master Electrician:
  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator. 
  2. Minimum of 10 years in industrial motor control and 3-phase system
  3. Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.
  4. Must have the ability to obtain a Master License within six months of employment. 
  5. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License. 
  6. As a condition of employment, must obtain State of Florida Class B Driver's License with Air Breaks Endorsement within the first year of employment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • State-certified or State-registered as a Master Electrician
  • Medium voltage electrical work experience
  • Familiar with and utilized the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards associated with motors and generators Experience in water, wastewater, or industrial operations and processes
  • Familiarity with local County electrical codes
