Salary: $47,701-$77,817 (DOE) annual

SUMMARY: The Natural Resources Faculty Member will be responsible for teaching courses in natural resources and general biology in a tribal community college setting. Teaching assignments may include evening classes with in-person, hybrid, and online formats. The successful candidate will be expected to design curriculum, participate in student assessment, engage in professional development, committee work, advising of students, and other faculty activities. Essential Duties

• Instructs students in appropriate modes of instructional delivery, including face to face classroom, online asynchronous, online synchronous via Zoom, etc. in an assigned area of responsibility. A normal teaching load is 15 semester hours in the Fall and Spring semesters.
• Ensures applicable program of study core competencies are taught and assessed ; develops, revises, and regularly updates courses and course syllabi; plans learning activities appropriate to the course content, effectively engages students in the teaching/learning environment created in all instructional modalities, and grades assignments and other learning assessments completed by students individually and/or in a group learning setting in a timely manner; regularly assesses student learning progress to ?assist, adjust, and/or advance? student success; evaluates overall student performance, including course content, learning elements, and student success rates within each course each semester.
• Implements student-centered pedagogy and maintains the teaching/learning focus in all instructional modalities on student learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels; effectively assess and maximize student achievement at all times.
• Develops Tohono O?odham culture appropriate learning elements in all curriculum; implement, and integrate the T-So:son (Our Core Values) and Tohono O?odham Himdag in all courses.
• Maintain accessible office hours (1 hour per course per week in all learning modalities which teaching load incorporates) and actively participate in college committee and service activities as discussed and agreed upon with the Academic Dean.
• Maintain rigor, relevancy, and professional relationship with the discipline or disciplines in which assigned to teach; actively pursue lifelong learning opportunities as a faculty member in new and/or revised instructional pedagogies, effective classroom engagement and assessment techniques, and emerging and/or evolving educational philosophies.
• May assist in the preparation of schedules and course offerings within department and programs of study.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned by Academic Dean.
