Title : Quality Assurance Engineer I

Department : QA

Status : Salary (Exempt)

Schedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm

SUMMARY :

Function : To ensure production of high-quality product exceeding in customer expectations through efficiently utilizing engineering methodologies and procedures based on TOK methods, standard operating procedures, and systems.

Scope : Use experience and judgment to plan, execute, and accomplish goals related to product quality in conjunction with performing a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing processes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or other similar discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in QC or QA Engineering
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Adherence to corporate, State, and Federal regulations and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or when exposed to hazardous situations. Must adhere to departmental and corporate standard operating procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Prepare internal documents for TOK departments and external documents for customers.
  • Lead investigation of quality problems and thereafter, implementation and verification of corrective action with focus on the prevention of reoccurrence through follow-up.
  • Working with other TOK America personnel to drive process improvements.
  • Support Failure Mode and Effect Analysis as needed.
  • Support production improvements by utilizing SPC techniques and tools such as JMP.
  • Improve the manufacturing processes to reduce manufacturing costs, improve quality, and promote safety.
  • Pursue activities for continuous improvement related to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Performance of other related duties related to the smooth operation of the facility as required, including cleaning and general housekeeping.
  • Periodical product quality check through internal process audits.
  • Additional tasks related to smooth production and facility operation.
  • Communications with parent and other group companies.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product quality and investigations.
  • Manages projects to qualify manufacturing changes with the customer.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and assess job site conditions and equipment functionality, including inspecting, detecting, observing, identifying, and flagging concerns, challenges, hazards, equipment malfunctions, etc. to ensure work is performed efficiently and safely.
  • Use and operate a personal computer, office equipment, and other technology devices frequently and consistently throughout each day with a high degree of skill, accuracy, and independent judgment for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data, and other business-related information.
  • Efficiently and quickly analyze, process, manipulate, and accurately record extensive amounts of data (some of which is technical or complex in nature) and other information that serves as the basis for this position. Interpret, distill, and present complicated and / or technical information to employees, customers, and others in understandable and relatable terms to aid and enhance levels of understanding and implementation.
  • Perform other necessary duties and tasks as requested.
  • REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS :

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with highly technical customers and diverse audiences.
  • Equipment operation skills– CDSEM, cross-section SEM, coater / developer track, exposure tool
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).
  • Have a stable, verifiable work history with an excellent attendance record.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives and organic solvents.
  • Ability to speak Japanese is preferred but not required.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

    There is a potential for exposure to hazardous conditions and / or materials. This position requires employee to remain alert and observe surrounding areas and conditions to identify, recognize, and respond to potential obstacles, safety concerns, hazards, threats, property conditions requiring attention, unauthorized and / or dangerous persons, and emergencies.   • Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner while wearing appropriate and required personal protective equipment. Follow all safety regulations and protocols. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of proper body mechanic / ergonomics and use correct body position / mechanics, tools, or work aids to work, move, maneuver, guide, or place objects or materials.
  • Work for extended periods of time in a stationary position (possibly up to 60 minutes or more without an opportunity to substantially change position) while consistently grasping, moving, and manipulating documents, supplies, computer equipment, and other tools and materials.
  • The position is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening test that includes THC. We comply with federal guidelines.
