JOB SUMMARY:

  • Support production departments maintaining and repairing plant equipment.
  • Perform plant Preventative / Predictive Maintenance (PvM's and PdM's) as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot / repair components and equipment as assigned.
  • Install equipment as directed following all applicable mechanical, electrical codes and governmental regulations.

minimum Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Three years of multi-craft maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and/or two years formal technical education from an accredited university or trade school.
  • A motivated team player, with good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, also call-in for plant breakdown during off shift hours, as needed.
  • Ability to read and utilize electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and drawings as required to install and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and variable frequency drives with computer troubleshooting and digital electronics a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing of electrical systems ranging from 24VDC - 600VAC safely working with electrical hazards using proper PPE.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with instruments/tools - multimeter, megohmmeter, amp meter, powered hand tools, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and hydraulic jacks.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying rigging fundamentals using straps, chains, binders and hoists.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and work within situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to perform within time constrained situations and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make competent decisions.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Five years or more of multi-craft maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatics
  • Welding and fabricating experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Risk-Based and/or Condition Based Maintenance Philosophy
  • Demonstrated experience using shop tools such as a mill or lathe.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Industrial Maintenance or Electrical License/Certifications a definite plus

Requires coordinating or leading others in accomplishing work activities and working with others in a group or team. Requires making decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the image and reputation of the organization, co-workers, clients or the company.
