Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly demeanor, providing them with menus and information about daily specials.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using the OpenTable system or other point-of-sale systems.
- Provide recommendations on menu items based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables, checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including sanitizing tables and utensils as needed.
- Process payments using the cash register, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and address any guest concerns promptly.
- Uphold high standards of culinary presentation and service quality throughout the dining experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell menu items effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during peak hours.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices and commitment to maintaining a clean workspace.
- A background in hospitality or culinary arts is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude towards guests and team members.
