Set in a tranquil setting in a historic suburb of Toledo, Ohio, our facility was designed to provide a tranquil and safe alternative to hospital or hospital-based programs. Our mission is to provide specialized treatment for children, teens, and adults struggling with eating disorders, such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and compulsive exercise disorder.
How You Will Make a Difference
The Staff Nurse, RN or LPN, provides general medical care for clients of Toledo Center under the direct supervision of the medical team including completing assessments, administering and ordering/refilling medications per physicians orders, reviewing physicians orders and medical record reviews, recording complaints and observing client behaviors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assists new clients with the settling in process and provide social and emotional support for them throughout their stay at the Toledo Center for Eating Disorders.
- Maintains appropriate personal/professional interaction with all clients and assists in immediate problem solving/intervention during crisis.
- Assists in performing a comprehensive nursing assessment, collects data that will aid in the development of a treatment plan for the clients.
- Reviews and updates clients treatment plans and privilege lists on a weekly basis following treatment team meetings.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in the Nurses Stations and practices universal precautions.
- Ensures the security of the medications and medical records and ensures that only relevant providers will have access to them.
- Determines if there are unhealthy/unsafe conditions in the work area and reports these conditions to the proper personnel.
- Ensures proper documentation is complete, thorough and timely.
- Reviews and completes the communication log daily.
Additional Responsibilities
- Upholds all policies and procedures related to medical interventions (e.g. Medication Error Reporting, Ancillary Services, etc.).
- Assists with daily teaching and discharge planning of the clients, and documents accordingly.
- Promotes the mission, goals and objectives of the Toledo Center for Eating Disorders.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.
What We're Seeking
Education and Experience
Appropriate nursing degree and Active Ohio Nursing License (RN or LPN)
Other Requirements
Position requires incumbent to have a valid drivers license and vehicle insurance.

- Demonstrates knowledge of admissions/discharge processes within a healthcare facility.
- Demonstrates foundation knowledge of eating disorders and/or therapeutic and medical treatment interventions.
- Understands and is able to clearly convey medical necessity criteria for residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care.
- Demonstrates strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.
