What are the responsibilities and job description for the FULL TIME PATIENT ACCOUNT REP - ENTRY LEVEL position at Toledo Clinic?
General Summary:
Handles patients’ questions regarding their patient bill and researches and resolves their issues.
Works under the supervision of the Business Services Supervisor
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1. Resolves, courteously and professionally, a patient's questions that are received either through a phone call, walk-in or mail.
2. Advises the patient of their fiduciary responsibility and what steps the Clinic will take to resolve their account. Follows up to insure those steps are taken and communicate with the patient if any additional information is needed.
4. Accepts credit card payments over the phone and set up accounts on payment plans.
5. Answers and resolves phone calls from attorneys, insurance companies, physician's offices, and other Business Office employees.
6. Files insurance forms for either primary or secondary carriers and completes contractual adjustments.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Audit accounts and review for discrepancies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Knowledge of Clinic billing, collections, accounts receivable, charging, and registration policies and procedures.
- Medical terminology, typing, and CPT coding.
- Insurance billing and reimbursement experience helpful.
- Excellent service skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

Education:
-HS diploma or GED.
