Toledo Clinic's Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Department, located in Sylvania OH, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Scheduler to work Monday-Friday (no weekends or holidays) from 8:00am - 5:00pm. This position will require working from other office locations as needed.
This position's primary responsibilities will be front desk/scheduling but will be expected to perform clinical duties as needed. Duties include the scheduling for the office, sleep lab, and PFT testing. It is required that candidates have either the RMA/CMA/CCMA certification or the ABR-OE recognition.

Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. Sign-On Bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT/A). For candidates that have not yet obtained or need to renew their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants will be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1) Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
2) Scheduling office appointments, sleep studies, procedures, PFTs, etc.
3) Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
4) Updating insurance information.
5) Answering general patient questions.
6) Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.
7) Timely and appropriate handling of faxes
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
7) Collecting patient responsibility payments.
8) Chart preparation.
9) Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
10) Clinical duties such as rooming patients and vitals when needed.
10) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:

- Previous Medical MA experience in a medical office.
Preferred:
- Previous clerical experience in a fast paced medical office preferred.
- RMA/CMA/CCMA
- ABR-OE
Education:
- HS diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistaing Diploma/Degree from an accredited school
