General Summary:
Under supervision of the Manager of Information Technology, serves as a source for technical advice, guidance, support, and solutions to end users in the utilization of information systems, networks, and applications.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
- Recommends computer equipment to meet requirements of the organization’s software.
- Evaluates, analyzes costs, orders PC’s, printers, scanners and PC software.
- Responsible for new computer hardware/software installation utilizing the standard organization imaging software, along with associated documentation of standard and non-standard procedures.
- Performs PC repairs and orders and installs replacement parts.
- Configures, installs and maintains network printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices as necessary.
- Oversees the PC Help Desk, responds to calls and resolves problems, assigns tasks to PC Technicians and PC Technicians-End User Support.
- Maintains inventory of PCs and associated peripherals (printers, scanners, swipers, monitors etc.), IP addresses assigned; and works with accounting to maintain fixed asset inventory control, windows office licensing management, delivery check in, tagging and disposal.
- Conducts training on computers, printers and scanner use to clients as needed.
- Provides technical support of workstations, servers, telecommunications, network equipment, printers and scanners.
- Acts as the liaison with user groups to facilitate PC use that maximize the benefits of the computer network.
- Serves as the backup to the Network Administrator(s) and assists with user enrollment and management in active directory.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Evaluates PC Software packages for Clinic appropriateness and researches best prices for software and hardware as requested by clinic personnel and directed by his/her supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems is required.
- Must have the ability to diagnose PC hardware and software problems.
- Must be able to install memory, disk drives and PC peripherals.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
- MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional),
- MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician).
- MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator); CompTIA A
Preferred:
- A two-year degree in Computer Science is desirable.
