Data Analytics Intern
Role Summary
The Data intern is a member of the Fan & Business Intelligence Department for The Toledo Mud Hens, Walleye, and Hensville. This role will assist with maintaining data storage, mining, organizing, and interpreting data. They will use analytical and statistical skills to turn the data into meaningful information that can be used to help the organization leaders make decisions.

Role Summary
The Data intern is a member of the Fan & Business Intelligence Department for The Toledo Mud Hens, Walleye, and Hensville. This role will assist with maintaining data storage, mining, organizing, and interpreting data. They will use analytical and statistical skills to turn the data into meaningful information that can be used to help the organization leaders make decisions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work independently and with stakeholders to mine data from current software and hardware platforms.
- Use descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to turn data into information.
- Assist the Data Analysts in gathering, organizing, and interpreting statistical data from the database to provide reports to, and answer questions from, Director of Fan & Business Intelligence.
- Assist in using visual data exploration and business intelligence tools to turn information into insights that product groups can understand and use in their operational strategies.
- Assist Data Scientist in identifying and resolving production and/or applications development problems related to the use of the database management system software or utilities.
- Use Customer Data Platform to assist in development of targeted lists for marketing campaigns.
- Assist the Director of Fan & Business Intelligence in the development of customer insights as it relates to ticket sales, food and beverage, social media consumption, marketing preference, corporate sales, promotions, and merchandise.
- Summarize and analyze survey data and translate into meaningful and actionable information.
- Assist in conducting customer analysis as it relates to Jobs to Be Done, Contagious, and Fanatical Experience.
- Mine internal business data to discover trends in sales, promotion, and marketing efforts.
- Mine data from customer and business surveys and provide analytical reports to the Director of Fan & Business Intelligence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree or pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business Analytics, Statistics, another related field.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to execute a number of tasks at the same time and working well under pressure.
- Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
- Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
- Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
- Strong business analysis skills.
- Understanding of computer languages used within database management.
- Experience with R or Python
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Working Environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment when working in the office.
- Frequent communication with peers, must be able to exchange accurate information.
