Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate
- Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in the field of education
- Appropriate Endorsement– K-8

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculum
- Diagnose and prescribe learning programs for individual and groups of students based on aptitude, interest and level of achievement
- Provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt curriculum to the students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive manner
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students and consistent with building/District policy
- Utilize district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculum
- Develop instruction goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment
- Provide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testing
- Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress through progress monitoring
- Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reports
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment
- Instruct students in proper care and use of materials and organizes storage areas and controls use of materials to prevent loss or abuse
- Carry out the assignments designated by the building principal
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Effectively utilize district technology appropriately
State/District Mandated Requirements:
- Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card or ability to attain one
- Fingerprinting (paid by employee)
- I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigration Reform Act
- HIV/HBV Training (district provided)
- Sexual Harassment Training (district provided)
Terms of Employment:
- Work year shall be concurrent with the school calendar and bargaining agreement
- Non-continuing position. This job is for the remaineder of the 2024-25 school year only.
