Wild Toledo Nursery Technician (Full Time, Seasonal)

Our Conservation department is currently seeking a Seasonal Nursery Technician who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.
Under limited supervision, the Wild Toledo Nursery Technician will perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Wild Toledo’s Native Plant Nursery. This position will also support Wild Toledo’s native lepidopteran conservation initiatives by assisting with captive husbandry, data collection, and host plant propagation.
Approximate Dates of Employment: April 1st – August 29th, 2025
Minimum Training and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier
- Preference will be given to current biology or horticulture students as well as those with degrees in the field.
- Ability to work in regular field conditions that may include heat, humidity, rain, insect bites, and stings.
- Some weekend work required
- The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
