Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Construction Auditor on Federal Projects, engaged with the Port Authority. Located in Jersey City, NJ, this on-site position involves performing audits of construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines and Port Authority standards. The Construction Auditor will analyze project costs, evaluate contractor performance, and prepare detailed audit reports. Daily tasks also include reviewing project documentation, conducting site visits, and collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure project integrity.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction auditing, cost analysis, and compliance with federal regulations
- Ability to review project documentation and evaluate contractor performance
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with project managers and stakeholders
- Proficiency in audit software and tools
- Knowledge of Port Authority standards and guidelines is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications such as CPA, CFE, or CIA are beneficial

This role involves performing construction audits on federally funded projects, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and monitoring costs related to federal funding (grants and loans). The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a requirement to work on-site four days per week starting September 2025.
- Conduct construction audits on federally funded projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Monitor and analyze costs related to federal funding, including grants and loans.
- Evaluate internal controls and ensure operations align with existing policies and procedures.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Perform minimal fieldwork as necessary to verify project compliance and progress.
