Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Warehouse Clerk to join our shipping team. This position plays a critical role in material handling, order selection, and warehouse operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have experience with sit-down forklifts, processing bulk orders, and handling inbound/outbound shipments. Some data entry and usage of Microsoft Office and DataCor are required to ensure accurate inventory tracking and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling & Forklift Operations
- Operate sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload materials.
- Safely handle chemical products and ensure compliance with hazardous materials handling guidelines.
- Perform loading and unloading of bulk tank wagons, ensuring timely shipment and receipt of materials.
- Shipping & Receiving
- Select and prepare customer orders accurately.
- Unload and load shipments from trucks, ensuring proper documentation and labeling.
- Verify incoming materials against packing slips and inspect for accuracy or damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
- Inventory & Data Entry
- Utilize DataCor for inventory tracking and warehouse management.
- Enter shipping and receiving data accurately into company systems.
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) to document inventory movement and reports.
- Assist with cycle counting and stock audits as needed.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols for handling chemicals and operating equipment.
- Wear proper PPE and adhere to hazardous material handling procedures.
- Report any spills, leaks, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Work Environment:
- Warehouse setting with exposure to chemicals, forklifts, and machinery.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Use of PPE (gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.) as required by company policy.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1-2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a chemical, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts; certification preferred or ability to obtain.
- Knowledge of order selection, bulk shipping, and material handling processes.
- Basic experience with DataCor, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in chemical or hazardous material handling.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to chemical shipping and storage.
