We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist to support our PreK-2 students. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in providing psychological services, supporting students' social-emotional development, and working closely with teachers and families. In addition to the School Psychologist, Birch Grove employs a Social Worker and a BCBA as well as a Family Resource Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct psychological assessments to identify learning disabilities, behavioral issues, and developmental delays. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide recommendations for interventions.
- Counseling and Support: Refer and/or offer individual and group counseling sessions for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support students’ academic and emotional needs.
- Consultation: Provide guidance to educators and staff on best practices for classroom management, behavior modification, and creating inclusive learning environments.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing student well-being and academic success.
Qualifications: CT Certification for a School Psychologist and Connecticut State License
