JOB SUMMARY: We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing the special education services, ensuring that students with disabilities receive tailored educational support to achieve academic success. The Special Education Supervisor will oversee the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating closely with the IEP team, parents, and staff to create effective learning experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and support the special education staff, including teachers, aides, and other support personnel.
Oversee the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Ohio state regulations.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure that special education services are integrated effectively within the academic curriculum.
Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and recommend necessary adjustments to services and support.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and student records.
Develop and implement professional development opportunities for special education staff.
Advocate for students with disabilities and promote a positive, inclusive school culture.
Work with parents, outside agencies, and community organizations to support students’ needs.
Ensure compliance with all special education laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree in Administration.
Valid Ohio Special Education certification. Administrative License.
OTES Certification and experience conducting OTES evaluations.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in special education, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong understanding Ohio special education laws, and best practices in special education.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a collaborative team environment.
Proven ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Clean criminal record suitable for public school employment.
Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
