Tolmar, Inc. is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company based in Colorado. We develop, manufacture, and distribute both branded and generic prescription medications globally, focusing on oncology, urology, and pediatric endocrinology. About Accounting and Finance

The Tolmar Accounting and Finance team is responsible for providing financial planning, reporting and controls, short- and long-term business strategy, investments, hedging, mergers and acquisitions, cash management, internal risk management, auditing, and accounting so that Tolmar can operate strategically and efficiently.

Operationally, the Finance team provides monthly and quarterly financial reporting across Tolmar, assists in creating ad-hoc analyses for potential cost saving opportunities and investments, and works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial metrics and performance to guide business decisions.

Proposed Work Description

The nature of business is that priorities can shift according to the needs of the company/department. Therefore, the work described below is a sampling of the kinds of work we expect this position to entail:

The Intern will support the Tolmar Finance team and:

  • Gain hands-on experience as a financial analyst assisting with analysis of company results and financial forecasting.
  • Support in delivering business finance support to company leadership
  • Receive training in Microsoft Excel skills/shortcuts, pharmaceutical industry market dynamics, best practices, and other skills that translate to numerous industries or roles.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and modeling as needed.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in Finance team meetings.
  • Assist in preparing management reporting
  • Learn about Finance and Accounting in the Pharmaceutical industry, and how the function supports the company objectives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Basic knowledge of finance concepts and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of computerized software, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective organization and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Ability to interact collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, or related program.
  • Have achieved an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Work is performed primarily at Tolmar offices. If agreed with Manager on any remote work days, the Intern must have access to a private, quiet working area during business hours (8 AM-5 PM Central Time).

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base rate is $19.00 per hour
  • Benefits include medical insurance and 401k participation

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
