Under general supervision, acts as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. Handles basic technical support queries, providing assistance with hardware, software, and networking problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide first-line support for all IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
Respond to incoming helpdesk tickets, phone calls, or emails, and prioritize according to severity.
Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues related to desktop applications, operating systems, printers, and peripherals.
Assist users with account management tasks, including password resets, system logins, and email setup.
Document incidents and solutions in the ticketing system to ensure thorough tracking and communication.
Provide basic training or guidance to users on how to use new or existing systems, software, and hardware.
Escalate unresolved issues or complex problems to Tier 2 or Tier 3 IT support as needed.
Installs or moves cable in walls and ceilings.
Installs and configures computers, monitors, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware; installs, configures, and upgrades PC operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
Ensure that all service requests are properly documented and follow up to ensure a timely resolution.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles for common troubleshooting steps.
Maintain a professional and customer-oriented approach while providing support to users.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of personal computers; strong understanding of basic computer hardware, software, and networking concepts; knowledge of Windows operating system.
Ability to troubleshoot common issues with email, Internet browsers, and office productivity software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.); ability to work well in a team environment.
Skill in oral communication and interpersonal relations; strong skill in problem solving and analysis.
Physical Requirements and Work Setting:
Works in a pleasant, air-conditioned work environment; prolonged periods of walking, standing, carrying, bending, and reaching; periodic lifting up to 70lbs; visual acuity and basic manual dexterity required.
Education and/or Experience Required:
One year of experience in the maintenance of PC networks, including knowledge of Microsoft applications and operating system software. Completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours of college coursework in computer science, computer information systems, or the equivalent completed within the last 5 years may substitute for six months of the required experience.
Certificates and Licenses:

- Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate (Office 365 and Office 2019)
- Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert (Office 365 and Office 2019)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Additional Requirements:
Incumbents must be able to pass a criminal background check with no disqualifying criminal history indicated.
