We are seeking a dynamic and detailed HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a variety of HR functions including, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefit administration, and compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support a positive workplace culture.
\n- Oversee employee administration on the Tom James secured site. Assists with new hires, terminations, and transfers.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws including OSHA reporting, EEO-1 reporting, and mandatory federal and state surveys
- Provide support in all areas of HR including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and reporting.
- Address HR-related questions and concerns
- Assist with benefits and leaves of absence administration
- Prepare and maintain employment records related to hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions using the Tom James secured site
- Schedule and conduct new employee orientation
- Coordinate recruiting for the home office by posting jobs, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens, and interviewing.
- Conduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed
- Plan special events/functions for the home office (annual picnic, special luncheons, holiday events)
- Oversee employee anniversary recognition program for the home office
- Oversee unemployment filings through third party vendor
- Assist with invoice reconciliation and billing for Benefits & HR
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Proven relationship-building skills

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines; the ability to perform detailed work accurately; the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and how to prioritize them
- Ability to routinely handle confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work as a team and remain flexible
- Ability to relate well and communicate with people of all levels within an organization
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Regular, on-site attendance required
- Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- 3 years of experience in a fast-paced HR office
- SHRM-CP preferred
