Job Description Sales & Lending Associate:

Lending Associates provide short-term loans to customers in exchange for items such as jewelry, electronics, musical instruments, firearms, etc. In this role, the associate estimates an item's value based on retail prices or market values, offering customers cash while holding the items as collateral.

Sales Associates provide superior customer service by assisting customers in the selection, demonstration and purchase of all products including jewelry, household items, tools, electronics, firearms, and much more. Keep shelves fully stocked, products faced, clean, dusted and priced according.

• Ensure Tom’s Pawn Values, Code of Conduct, Company Vision and Mission are being practiced and enforced by all employees at all times
• Help promote a positive company culture and work environment
• Provide outstanding customer service with a smile, honesty, and integrity
• Pawn and buy items from customers as well as selling items
• Research items to find the market value
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer
• Fully explain all loan terms to customers and ensure they are understood
• Ensure information about items we take is accurately recorded in our software
• Fully test all items to ensure functionality and resale ability
• Monitor front waiting/sales area to ensure safety of both customers and merchandise
• Able to test tools & outdoor equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 18 years or older
• Able to pass a criminal background check & drug test
• Able to work all Saturday’s and Holidays excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day
• Strong desire to work, serve customers and work with people; team oriented
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense
• Computer literate and able to use common office machines
• High energy, positive attitude, team oriented
• Ability to operate store equipment including, but not limited to cash registers, telephones, and computers
• Be able to demonstrate basic product knowledge for a variety of items
• Proper use, care and maintenance of company equipment and inventory
• Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
• Retail Sales experience preferred
• Regular daily tasks like cleaning, stocking, & cross-training

Working Conditions:

Primarily indoors. Employees are asked to assist customers outside or to retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting/Carrying - Due to the nature of the pawn industry, the types of products and materials that may be lifted, carried or handled during a work shift varies from day-to-day and week-to-week.

On average, a pawn shop employee will handle jewelry, firearms, tools, bicycles, and electronics (stereo, televisions, and speakers) on a daily basis. The frequency of these lifts and the weight of the items handled will also vary.

Physically able to stand for long periods of time, bend stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, carry and move items up to 25 pounds.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
