DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing
- Assists customers by making product suggestions.
- Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom
- Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receive and appropriately resolves
- Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (See Store Director job
- Monitors production process following company procedures and profitability.
- Builds GM/HBC displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product. Ensures cleanliness of work area
- Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.
- Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements.
- Monitors employee’ productivity and evaluates overall performance.
- Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Including but not limited to
- Assists with Scheduling, supervising, training and assigning duties to department employees.
- Train employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures.
- Identifies and trains employees with high potential for advancement opportunities.
- Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb
- Responsible for insuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced.
- May initiate personnel actions such as pre-employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary
- Assists with physical inventory taken every 6 months.
- Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness and maintains
- Assists with ordering general merchandise product and maintains inventory levels according to
stock conditions in back room and all Drug Department areas.
- Controls shrink and cost.
- Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet

- Accurately completes maintains and monitor daily log sheet, sales and labor and other required
- Ensures that proper temperature levels for product are maintained. Complies with retail labeling
- Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Ensures safety, cleanliness and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment and display area, including
- Implements emergency procedures in the event of equipment and computer software malfunctions.
- Operates computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product.
- May attend and participate in sales meetings. Communicates sales goals, department performance and sales
