The Tom Wood Group, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is looking for an experienced Billing Clerk to complement our team. The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Process vehicle sales accurately and verify necessary documentation for dealership transactions using billing software or manual systems.
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payment records.
- Ensure all documentation for vehicle sales is accurate, organized, and stored properly.
- Verify customer payments, track outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure vehicle sales are processed in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments, customers, and vendors.
- Provide support to internal company dealerships to help resolve disputes regarding vehicle sales.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining billing processes, implementing best practices, and enhancing efficiency to optimize departmental productivity.
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies governing billing practices and financial transactions
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial administration, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in using Dealership Software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate calculations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with customers, colleagues, and vendors professionally.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
