What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powersports Technician - Tom Wood Powersports South position at Tom Wood Inc.?
Tom Wood Powersports South, located in Whiteland, IN, is seeking a full-time Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a passion for both mechanics and outdoor recreation, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose complex problems on multiple manufacturer’s products by using latest diagnostic equipment
- Complete complex repairs within timelines specified by the manufacturer and dealership.
- Perform routine maintenance and assembly of new units
- Perform additional functions in the dealership as needed, including but not limited to service writing, parts counter assistance, unit pickup and delivery, and assisting apprentice techs as needed
- Attend periodic training in remote locations as well as on-site
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong passion for the powersports industry
- Formal training, preferably with one of the major metric motorcycle manufacturers and or MMI
- At least 1-year proven experience in powersports or automotive repair
- Must have a “sales and customer service” attitude and aptitude and be able to communicate professionally with customers
- Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
- Required- Valid driver’s license, with motorcycle endorsement plus a clean driving record
