CIVIL ENGINEER or ENGINEER IN TRAINING

JOB SUMMARY

Toman Engineering Company is located in Mandan, ND and has been providing consulting civil engineering and surveying services throughout Central North Dakota for over 75 years.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer/Engineering-in-Training to join our team! The Civil Engineer is responsible for the design of projects including responsibilities such as developing plans, preparing cost estimates and schedules, construction drawings, bid packages, construction specifications, and coordination of the project implementation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Performing site research & preparing due diligence reports for new projects
• Conduct field visits to understand existing site or building conditions
• Prepare designs for projects in accordance with general engineering principles
• Prepare permitting application packages
• Prepare engineering reports and construction plans & specifications
• Attend meetings with Project Engineers and Project Managers
• Site Development Design
• Working and communicating with other team members
• Bonus if knowledge/experience with Stormwater Management

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Understanding of municipal design including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main design projects is preferred.
• Strong mathematical concepts applicable to engineering
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
• Excellent time management skills
• Effective Verbal/Written Communication Skills
• Valid Driver’s License & good driving record

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, or in process of obtaining
• Minimum 2 Years of Engineering Experience
• Experience in Land Development
• Proficient in AutoCAD – Civil 3D
• PE Certification or ability to obtain PE Certification
• Bonus if basic knowledge and/or experience in Water Resources/Hydrology/HydroCAD
