What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpentry Supervisor - Maintenance position at Tomball ISD?
Primary Purpose: Provide supervision and coordinate for all activities of the carpentry and grounds departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience: 8 years
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Must be able to supervise and direct the activities and work of subordinates.
Must be able to read and interpret architectural drawings.
Must be able to calculate project cost.
Must be able to supervise subordinates in proper use of tools and equipment normally used in the carpentry and grounds departments.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assign and coordinate work assignments. Ensure that they are processed and completed in a timely manner.
2. Supervise subordinates in various task.
3. Calculate cost (time and material) of projects.
4. Order material. (Project cost)
5. Coordinate the repair of roofs, walls, doors, windows, floors, sidewalks and fences.
6. Coordinate the modification of roofs, walls, doors, windows, floors, sidewalks, and fences.
7. Supervise the work of all concrete pouring and finishing.
8. Coordinate the repair of all playground equipment.
9. Coordinate the repair of all fences and gates.
10. Be able to respond to after hour emergencies as needed.
11. Demonstrate willingness and a positive attitude toward performing other duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Power saws, drills, generators, sanders, nail guns, hammers, air compressors, and heavy equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands:
Strenuous waking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting - over 45 pounds. Responsibilities of the position can cause and require irregular work hours.
Environment:
Work outside and inside, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, work with high and low temperature equipment. Work in confined spaces and work with high pressure and high voltage equipment.
