What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal - Elementary - 2025-2026 School Year position at Tomball ISD?
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise all operations at the campus level. Provide instructional leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service and student success. Direct the implementation of district policies and instructional programs and manage the operation of all campus activities for a positive student and staff experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in Educational Administration
Texas Principal Certificate or other appropriate Mid-Management Certificate
Certificate for appraiser in T-TESS
Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) certificate or its equivalent Instructional Leadership Developme (ILD)
Texas Reading Academies (preferred)
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to coordinate campus functions
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Ability to interpret data
Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Minimum Experience:
Three years experience as a classroom teacher
Three years experience as Assistant Principal

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
