Assistant Project Manager
Location: Newnan, GA | Industry: Commercial Construction
Tomco Construction, Inc. is a commercial General Contractor and Construction Manager based in Newnan, GA. We’re currently seeking a qualified construction professional for the role of Assistant Project Manager. This position requires 3–5 years of experience in construction project management and offers the opportunity to grow with a trusted and dynamic team.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):
• Work with field management to generate job-specific safety plans
• Coordinate with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision teams to implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and reporting
• Create staging, logistics, and phasing plans for assigned projects
• Lead subcontractor coordination
• Set up and maintain change order logs and cost tracking
• Manage project setup in Procore software
• Oversee project startup, permits, licenses, and jobsite mobilization
• Facilitate subcontractor pre-mobilization/startup meetings
• Issue and administer subcontracts and purchase orders (payments, insurance, etc.)
• Assist with project schedule development and updates; lead job scheduling meetings
• Implement and ensure compliance with quality control plans
• Prioritize and expedite submittals
• Expedite material deliveries per schedule requirements
• Develop and manage subcontractor and purchase order change orders
• Review project projections and schedules monthly
• Review and approve material/equipment invoices based on budget
• Prepare payment requests and monitor collections
• Attend OAC progress meetings and prepare monthly status reports
• Enter and update all project documentation in management software
• Oversee job close-out procedures and final accounting
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or a related field
• 3–5 years of construction experience
• Experience with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes
• Proficiency with Procore or other construction software
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Technical writing and documentation skills
• Effective conflict resolution skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
