Our Analytical Team is growing! Reporting to our Senior Scientist, Mass Spectrometry, we are seeking an Associate Scientist, Mass Spectrometry to join our organization. In this role, the individual will have the opportunity to perform LC-MS analysis of oligonucleotides, mRNA, lipids, proteins, and other components of gene therapy medicines. High resolution mass spectrometry projects will involve peptide bioanalysis (quantitative focus), RNA sequencing, PK/PD and met ID. Chromatography projects will include IPRP, IEX, SEC and GC. Opportunity to contribute to the mass spec informatics platform and help build the Mass Spec and separations team will be key in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow documented analytical methods to perform LC-MS for the analysis of synthetic oligonucleotides, proteins and other analytes
- Experience with any biomolecules and biomolecule Mass Spec preferred
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation including HPLC and Mass Specs
- Experience with Orbitrap and high resolution instrumentation is preferred
- Document and communicate analytical results
- Contribute to development, optimization, and operationalization of new analytical methods
- Effectively collaborate within analytical team and across other functional teams
- Maintain organized electronic records of all experimental results
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, biology, biochemistry, or relevant degree
- 4 years of lab experience using HPLC and Mass Spectrometry
- Must be able to prioritize work load and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Must be organized, proactive, and work well under deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to interact with internal and external contacts at all levels of management
