Tommy’s is looking for a Fabricator to prepare and fabricate stainless steel components based off of blueprints.

Position Responsibilities:  

• Read and interpret part prints to determine the specific welding requirements. 
• Prepare/fabricate stainless steel components for welding using saws, drills, mills, and grinders. 
• Setup welding machines according to Welding Procedure Specifications 
• Use MIG and TIG welders to complete welded assemblies per prints 
• Passivate welded assemblies
• Operate press brake to form sheet metal components
• Deburr laser material to prepare for forming and welding
• Organizes and maintains work area to 5S standards 
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards 
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task 
• Work with other team members to maximize productivity and efficiency 
• Assists in other areas within the business as needed 

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes: 

• Technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and training. 
• Experience with TIG & MIG welding of stainless steels 
• Ability to pass and operate within AWS D 1.6 and D1.3 Qualifications 
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools 
• High willingness to learn 
• Ability to operate forklift, Aerial platform and overhead crane 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload  
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation 
• Displays a strong initiative and drive to identify gaps and fill them 

Work Environment 

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard fabrication equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, and welders.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member must be able to:

• Lift between 50 - 70 lbs 
• Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time 
• Able to move about inside the warehouse 
• Be able to drive, go up heights 
• Ability to work and commute in all weather conditions 
• Able to effectively communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself and exchange information 
• Able to walk, bend, twist, turn, stoop, climb steps, reach with hands, use hands to fingers. 
• Tolerate vibrating tools and louder than normal work environment at times. 

Travel 

Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel to franchise locations.
