What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Mission Operations Software Engineer position at Tomorrow?
Tomorrow.io's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar and sonar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.
We're looking for a Sr. Operations Software Engineer to help us develop the mission-critical software systems necessary to launch, deploy, and operate a fleet of scientific instruments in space, from Earth. Come join a group of engineers and scientists that dream on the IR spectrum, call astrodynamics "fun", and could talk for days about why time is way harder than you think. Together, we will build the biggest weather platform in the world!
What you'll do :
- Develop the tools mission operators and climate scientists need to achieve mission success
- Support payload operators and scientists in achieving mission success
- Contribute to the definition of interfaces between various components (ground system to spacecraft, spacecraft bus to payload, etc.)
- Work with DevOps and IT teams on topics such as production environment, deployment strategies, and security measures
- Provide training and documentation for all production software systems
