EXPERIENCED Veterinary Receptionist Wanted for Independent & Growing Practice!!
Tompkins Vet is looking for an experienced VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST to join our team. We are a private hospital with fantastic clients and amazing staff! We practice excellent medicine and are focused on providing a welcoming and professional environment for clients and pets. We are searching for other motivated, dedicated, and reliable team players who are interested in sharing our vision of fostering the human-animal bond.
It is critical that our veterinary receptionists excel in thorough and accurate communication and practices with clients and staff. As the first impression and experience that clients have with our practice, our veterinary receptionists / customer service representatives at our front desk set the standard for all aspects of our services and team, and must be friendly and professional, efficient and effective, dependable and arrive on time, able to multi-task, and act as liaison between client and staff focusing on client satisfaction.
The applicant must work well with others, take direction, and have initiative. We are a paperless practice so it does require you to be computer savvy!
Our ideal candidate:
- Has exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Is a positive person who can professionally treat any situation with a smile on their face
- Is self-motivated and able to work independently
- Is a great team player
- Is able to be on-site and in office 5 days per week
- Demonstrates compassion and loves learning and improving their skills on a daily basis.
- Has worked in the veterinary industry for at least one year
Veterinary Receptionist Duties & Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Provide excellent customer service, be friendly & greet customers, accurately answer questions.
- Answering and making calls to determine, schedule & confirm multiple types of appointments, discuss pet and client needs, process incoming patients, and handle payments.
- Answer high-volume of calls on multi-line phone system.
- Pro-active & multi-tasking a MUST!
- Accurately enter client information, collect payments, and print receipts
- Concisely communicate as liaison with clients, assistants, technicians, and doctors
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
- Consistently provide exceptional customer service in a positive manner
- Maintain the cleanliness of the waiting room
- Exceptional organizational skills to keep work environment tidy and comfortable, as well as to perform assignments efficiently
- We are a small business – everyone helps with basic cleaning, animal care, and other duties as needed!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
