Job Summary:
The Vice President of Operations (VP Operations) will be responsible for overseeing the company's daily operations, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring the implementation of Lean methodologies. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in operational turnarounds and a proven track record of leading process improvements that result in increased productivity, cost reduction, and enhanced quality.
This is heavy travel, "road warrior" role (70-80% travel) and can be located in any of the following areas: Cleveland, Minneapolis, Kansas City or Dallas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute operational strategies that support the company's overall business objectives.
- Lead and manage all aspects of the company's operations, including production, supply chain, logistics, and quality control.
- Implement Lean principles and practices to streamline operations, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Drive operational turnaround initiatives to restore and enhance company performance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set performance goals and develop plans to achieve them.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the organization.
- Mentor and coach a team of operations professionals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
What we are seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in operational turnarounds and implementing Lean methodologies.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, production processes, and quality control.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing budgets and financial performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to travel 70-80% of the time
Salary : $200,000 - $230,000
