What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Sales Agent position at Tonka Insurance Agency, Inc.?
Accountabilities:
- Develops leads, schedules appointments, identify customer needs and market appropriate insurance products based on customer needs.
- Provides general administrative support, which may include scheduling of appointments, managing calendars, taking phone calls, greeting customers, preparing meeting materials, processing customer policy changes and endorsements generating reports and other communications.
- Educate customers or prospects about insurance products, coverages and/or options
- May work on complex projects requiring a high degree of initiative, communication and problem solving.
- Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.
- The team member is accountable to maintain skill proficiency, including improvement where deemed necessary, and upgrading any additional or new skills on the appropriate position skills list.
- Develop relationships with centers of influence

Basic Qualifications:
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent (i.e. GED) required. Bachelor’s degree highly desirable.
Experience
- Administrative support and sales experience preferred.
- Previous insurance experience preferred.
- Customer services experience highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of insurance terminology preferred.
- Self-motivated
Licensure/Certification(s)/Registration
- Insurance license highly desirable
