This job was posted by : For more information, please see : Job TypePart-timeDescriptionPosition : Travel Plaza ClerkReports to : Travel Plaza ManagerFLSA Status : Non-ExemptPosition Summary : Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Travel Plaza. They complete many duties in order to maintain the Travel Plaza, which include attending to and assisting customers, accepting payments, stocking the shelves and maintaining station organization, preparing any hot food and maintaining the balance of the cash drawer.Essential Duties : Ensures satisfactory customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with any needs or questions.Conducts a physical count of drawer at beginning and end of assigned shift and verify all monies, receipts, and transactions made.Ensures all paperwork is correct, signed and verified by attending supervisor.Stocks store shelves, organizes, and straightens items to maintain a presentable appearance to the customers.Maintains proper levels of inventory, communicates low inventory levels to the Manager for ordering.Maintains proper attendance in accordance with internal policy. Reports to work on time, and / or provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with policy.Assists in resolving customer and employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements : : : {bind="html : Job.Requirements"} Education and Experience : High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required.Cash handling experience, previous cashier experience preferred.Prior retail experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Must possess excellent communication skills.Must be knowledgeable of merchandise in store and available for any training deemed necessary.Ability to communicate verbally in English.Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.The ability to follow instruction and have the ability to perform assigned tasks under limited supervision.Must be able to effectively work alone and or with other employees in a team environment.Working Conditions and Physical Environment : The working conditions and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
