We have an immediate opening for a Personal Insurance Trainee , an entry-level position in our Lexington, MA office.
About the Job: Tonry’s Personal Insurance Trainee (PIT) works directly with our Personal Lines Manager learning how to service and grow personal lines insurance accounts. The PIT has frequent interactions with our clients and business partners. Whether the interaction is in person, over the phone or via email, it is important that a positive rapport is established. For this reason, the PIT position needs to be filled by a well-spoken and friendly person with excellent organizational skills and true reliability. Strong software and processing skills are absolutely required. The PLT must be able to complete tasks and establish priorities in a fast-paced setting. Attention to detail is extremely important as you prepare Insurance Binders, Registry Paperwork, and Applications.
Growth Opportunities: This position is designed for growth within Tonry Insurance Group. The PIT is the first step to becoming an Personal Lines Account Manager. We pay for job-related classes and licensing and provide training paths to further your career.
Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Review renewal policies and policy changes for accuracy and deliver to customers
- Assist customers with reporting claims
- Phone/Reception – welcome calls and visitors
- Investigate and answer billing questions
- Review coverage and rate options to provide options for our customers
- Create and maintain relationships with our insurance company partners
- Deliver superior customer service while adhering to guidelines and workflows
- Be eager to expand your skills and knowledge
- Other administrative tasks as needed
Future responsibilities:
- Create and maintain relationships with existing customers
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
- Welcome and foster opportunities to acquire new customers and grow existing accounts by marketing, quoting, and delivering proposals
Qualifications & Experience:
- Self-motivating, client caring, and team-oriented
- Strong computer and communication skills
- Ability to learn and retain information from online classes, in-person classes, on the job training, and self-directed research
- Attention to detail
- Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and be efficient
- Experience and comfort with online training via "Zoom"
- Excellent phone and written communication skills
